Open positions at The Next Web

PHP Developer

The TNW Labs companies all run on PHP (and a variation of PHP frameworks). You want to get the most out of a system as possible and push the code to its outermost limits and beyond. As a PHP developer you will help the team in developing new features, maintaining the current codebase, squashing bugs, optimizing performance and helping us keep our our edge.

  • 2 or more years experience in web development
  • Native in PHP
  • Experience with MySQL
  • Experience with API's (preferably Twitter, Facebook and Google+)
  • Knowledge of version control (preferably Git)
  • Able to work independently with little supervision

Front-end Developer

You'll be bringing the latest in front end development to all our properties, making sure it's usable as well as functional. You love to tweak each part of the website down to the last pixel and continuously want to apply the latest techniques. As a front-end developer you will help the team in developing new features, writing the HTML and CSS to make it work cross-browser, making sure layouts work well and load fast.

  • 2 years experience in web development
  • Experienced in HTML5 and CSS3
  • Experienced in Javascript
  • Up-to-date with the latest HTML and CSS standards
  • Knowledge of version control (preferably Git)
  • Able to work independently with little supervision
  • Able to read and understand basic PHP

Designer

As a designer you will create design (print and web) for new and existing websites. You love typography and think nothing would be better than to draw new worlds and experiences. As a designer you'll shape how people see our company and our products, you'll assist the web development team in making sure they have the right images to work with, tweaking until it looks amazing.

  • 2 years in designing for the web
  • Experience in print design
  • Experience with logo design
  • Knowledge of Abode Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Able to voice design concerns to the development team
  • Able to work independently with little supervision
