OpenAI ChatGPT Professional Plan is the premium version of the viral AI-powered chatbot ChatGPT. When ChatGPT, the AI-powered chatbot that is adept in churning out content in the blink of an eye went viral, its platform OpenAI revealed that it wants to monetise ChatGPT to “ensure [the tool’s] long-term viability.”

What is ChatGPT Professional Plan?
ChatGPT Professional Plan refers to the paid subscription service for ChatGPT with added features and faster response time. While ChatGPT is a capable search engine in its own right, the ChatGPT Pro’s new features are likely to take it to the next level.
OpenAI is currently spending a lot of money on ChatGPT to keep it running, but it has yet to make a profit from it. With the ChatGPT Professional Plan, the company will be able to recoup at least some of the money spent on ChatGPT.
ChatGPT Professional Plan has a number of advantages over the standard edition. This includes service availability even when there is high demand. It will also provide faster response times, and subscribers will have first access to new features.
This will be a deal breaker because ChatGPT requires a large number of GPUs to process data and generate responses. When the user base grows, the company will need to increase server capacity to keep the services running. In this case, even if traffic is heavy, a Professional user will have priority access to the ChatGPT.

ChatGPT Professional Waitlist Link
The ChatGPT Professional waitlist link is available on OpenAI’s Help page here. It was initially shared by Greg Brockman, President and Co-Founder of OpenAI, on Twitter. Additionally, OpenAI shared the waitlist on the company’s official Discord.

The waitlist is a Google Form that reveals ChatGPT Professional as the working title for the premium version of the chatbot. The form includes questions about how the respondent uses ChatGPT and what price they believe is reasonable. Anyone can sign up for the ChatGPT Professional pilot.
“Please keep in mind that this is an early experimental programme that is subject to change, and we are not making paid pro access generally available at this time,” the waitlist stated.
According to OpenAI, ChatGPT Professional will be “always available,” provide “fast responses” without throttling and provide users with “at least” twice the daily number of answers as the free version of the chatbot.
Chatgpt Professional Price
ChatGPT Professional is priced at $20 per month as of now. This is a reduction from the $42 per month seen in OpenAI’s “ChatGPT Pro” pilot programme. This means that ChatGPT Plus will cost users approximately $240 per year.
However, ChatGPT Professional will eventually receive a slightly reduced annual rate as it matures. This might not be worth it for those who just want to play with an AI chatbot, but for those who use it on a daily basis as an assistant or something similar, the savings could add up quickly.
At $20, it’s a reasonable price for one of the most revolutionary pieces of technology in our lifetime.
How to Access ChatGPT Professional?
ChatGPT Plus is only available to a limited number of users in the United States. OpenAI has stated that they will expand the pool to include users from countries other than the United States “soon,” but no date has been set for any international bettors.
However, it is still unavailable to the majority of users around the world. It is hoped that OpenAI expands the list sooner rather than later. To be up to date with the product’s status, it is advised to follow OpenAI’s social media channels and sign up for the waitlist.
You can still use the free version on the web with an OpenAI account.
ChatGPT Professional Pilot Launch
According to a waitlist link posted by OpenAI on Discord, the pilot will be called ChatGPT Professional, and the research laboratory asks a variety of questions about payment preferences, including “At what price (per month) would you consider ChatGPT to be so expensive that you would not consider buying it?”
ChatGPT Professional is designed for professional use, with always available (no blackout windows), fast ChatGPT responses (i.e. no throttling), and as many messages as you need (at least 2X of regular daily limit).
As of early December, ChatGPT had over a million users, an enviable user base by any standard. However, running the service is expensive. ChatGPT’s operating expenses, according to OpenAI co-founder and CEO Sam Altman, are “eye-watering,” amounting to a few cents per chat in total compute costs. (ChatGPT is hosted in the Azure cloud by Microsoft.)
OpenAI is under pressure to generate revenue from products like ChatGPT ahead of a rumoured $10 billion investment from Microsoft. OpenAI expects to earn $200 million by 2023, a pittance in comparison to the more than $1 billion invested in the startup thus far.
