What are Telegram’s new features?
Here are all the new features on Telegram introduced with the latest update!
Hidden media – Hidden media is effective for users who want to avoid giving spoilers for photos and videos. It lets you blur images and videos with a shimmering layer and the recipients can tap on the hidden image to see the content.
To access the feature, go to the attachment menu and select one or more items. From the ‘three-dot’ icon, you can choose the option ‘Hide with Spoiler’.
Zero storage usage – Telegram can be used without using space on a device. Any documents or media saved in phone storage can be deleted and if required, downloaded from the Telegram server.
The feature enables a user to set up auto-remove settings for cached media from Groups, Private Chats, Channels, and Groups except for specific chats. Telegram will use a pie chart to visualize the storage used for the app and dedicated tabs for Files, Media, and Music further lets the user delete items with a few taps.
New drawing and text tools – The new drawing and text tools define the width of the lines drawn by a user. They dynamically change width based on drawing speed and smoothen the lines.
In addition, there is a blur tool that can hide sensitive data on photos and videos along with five advanced color-choosing tools including the Eyedropper. The size, font, and background can also be changed while inserting text into media content.
Profile picture for your contacts – You can choose an exclusive profile picture for your contacts while editing them. The display is only for the eyes of the user but you can also send them profile picture suggestions.
Public profile pictures – You can set up public profile pictures if your current display photo is visible only to certain contacts. The visibility can also be set to “Nobody” and some users or groups can be added as exceptions.
Hiding group members – So far, Telegram provides tools like the aggressive anti-spam that secures profiles of chat admins but Groups now have provisions to protect their members from unsolicited messages.
Admins of groups with 100+ participants can hide the member list. Only the admins are aware of the members who choose not to send messages to the Group.
New progress animations on Android – With the addition of smooth animations to the app users will have an easier time chatting with multiple contacts.
New animated emoji – Telegram Premium users can access 10 new emoji packs as a part of the latest update.
More interactive emoji – Although normal users can’t use the above feature, they can still use new interactive emojis recently added to Telegram. You can use full-screen effects in sync with the recipient’s screen.
They are emojis that can be tapped on to produce these effects. The emojis can also be used as reactions now.
